Samuel L. Cappas has been a resident of Northeast Indiana all of his life.

After more than 25 years in public positions and private law, Sam continues to fight and win justice for the people of Lake County and Northeast Indiana.

Sam brings his passion for justice and seasoned courtroom expertise to criminal defense, personal injury, divorce mediation and family law. Sam was next assigned Lake County Trial Supervisor, responsible for reviewing cases, assigning cases, and overseeing courtroom trial attorneys.

In 1991, Sam Cappas accepted a position with a private law firm in East Chicago, Indiana, where he engaged in the general practice of law.

In 1992, the Indiana Supreme Court appointed Samuel Cappas to preside as Judge Pro Tempore in an unfilled county court judge position. Sam returned to private practice half a year later when a permanent replacement was selected.

In 1994, Sam founded his private law firm in Highland, Indiana. Sam's genuine enthusiasm for criminal defense and personal injury cases is why Cappas & Associates continues to specialize in these areas of law.
